The Premier Community Wind Band in South Wales

            Update on 31 July 2020

The Welsh Government have recently annouced groups of up to 30 individuals will be able to meet outdoors. Therefore we are proposing to have a blow in Lynne Ellis' spacious garden at 2pm on Sunday 23 August 2020 (weather permitting of course).

Each band member will need to bring a chair, music stand and any refreshments they may require. Parking in the local area will not be an issue.

Lynne's house is in Murton and we will supply the address to everyone separately closer to the time.
Please let Lynne know if you will be available, and also copy John in.

    Updated 26 July 2020

A further review of the situation across the UK has taken place and we have taken the decision to cancel rehearsals until 7 September 2020.

This decision will be reviewed again in August and updates will be posted here and on the band Facebook page.

John has contacted the Welsh Government to enquire when we may be able to restart rehearsals. Unfortunately the reponse did not provide any definite timescales for us to work towards.
You can view the response by clicking here.

THE CONCERT SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY 20 MARCH 2020 WAS POSTPONED.

Existing tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.
More details will follow when known.

New Players Welcome
(Clarinet, French Horn & Tuba players)

We are always looking for new players to join the band, please get in touch if you are interested.

We would like to recruit a tuba player(s) who can read bass clef to join the band.
Instruments can be provided if required.

We would also like to hear from any horn and clarinet players interested in joining the band.

Details of our rehearsals can be found here Rehearsal

Further information can be obtained from John Price the Musical Director

We have previously commissioned a piece called "Swansea Town" which we premiered at the
Bad Orb Festival of Winds in September 2014.

The music is composed and arranged by Geoff Kingston of Safe Music Limited and is approximately 8 minutes long.

Rehearsals & Players

We rehearse twice weekly, on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 7.30 pm and 9 pm (not on Bank Holidays). Click here or on the Rehearsal button on the left for further details and where to find us.

We offer a warm welcome to new players of wind or percussion instruments and have a wide range of instruments for loan, and an extensive music library (most of our music is listed on our Music library site.)

If you wish to join (or hire) the band, don't hesitate to contact us (see below), or simply turn up at a rehearsal (see Rehearsal). You will be made very welcome.
